MemoNavi — Privacy Policy
Version: 2026-11-02
Summary
MemoNavi keeps your places, memories and photos only on your phone. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. The developer receives no data from the app.
Who is responsible
The app is developed by Andrey Glinskiy (the developer). Because all data stays on your device and is never sent to the developer, the developer does not process your personal data. You remain in full control of it.
What is stored on your device
- Places: name, coordinates, country/region/city, category.
- Memories: title, description, dates, names of people, tags.
- Photos you add: private copies inside the app folder.
- Swarm check-ins, if you import a Foursquare export: venue, coordinates, time, comment and photos. The file is read on the device; the app does not connect to your Foursquare account.
- Settings: theme, colors, language, your privacy choices.
This data is stored in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. It is excluded from automatic Android cloud backup, so it is never uploaded to Google without your action.
Online services (only with your consent)
Both services are off until you turn them on, and you can turn them off at any time in Settings → Privacy & data.
- Online map — map images are loaded from OpenStreetMap tile servers (OpenStreetMap Foundation, UK). They receive your IP address and the map area you view, as with any website.
- Address lookup — when you create a place or search the map, the coordinates or the search text are sent to OpenStreetMap Nominatim to find the address. Your memories, people, tags and photos are never sent.
Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy: osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy
Google Maps
The app has no Google account connection and uses no Google API.
- “Google Maps” and “Directions” buttons send the place's coordinates to Google only when you tap them, and Google's own terms apply from there.
- When you share a short Google Maps link to MemoNavi, the app asks Google where that link leads, to read its coordinates.
- Imported Takeout and Timeline files are read on the device, and only the places you select are kept. A location history is sensitive: delete your copy of the file when you no longer need it.
- A KML export holds places and memory text, without people or tags, and goes wherever you send it.
Backups in your own storage
This is off unless you choose it, after accepting responsibility. The app then overwrites one file you created, in a location you picked. The file is not encrypted and holds all your data, including names and photos. Its storage provider handles it under its own terms; the developer has no access to it. Deleting data in the app or uninstalling it does not remove that copy, so delete it there yourself. Android alone connects the app to that storage: the app never receives your password for it.
Device permissions
- Location — used only when you tap “My location”, to center the map. It is not tracked in the background or stored.
- Photos / camera — used only when you add a photo yourself.
Information about other people
Names and stories about other people that you write down for your own personal memories fall under the GDPR “household exemption”. Please still be respectful: record only what the people involved would be comfortable with, especially health, religion or other sensitive details.
Your rights and how to use them
- Access and portability — Settings → Export all data creates a .zip with a readable JSON file and all your photos.
- Rectification — edit any place or memory.
- Erasure — delete single memories or places, or everything at once with Settings → Delete all data. Uninstalling the app also removes all data.
- Withdraw consent — switch off the online services in Settings.
- Complaints — you may contact your local data protection authority.
Children
MemoNavi is not directed at children under 16.
Changes and contact
If the app's behavior changes (for example, optional cloud backup), this policy will be updated before the change and you will be asked again where consent is needed. Questions: support@memonavi.eu.

Testing requests
If you apply to test an app through our website, we process the details you enter in the form: your email address (the email of your Google account, if you want an invitation to a Google Play test), your name, phone model, Android version and language if you provide them, your comment, and your confirmation that you are 18 or older (for Talent Foxes, that you are a parent or legal guardian). We use them only to contact you about the test, to send you a link or an invitation to the test version and to follow up on your feedback. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and, where relevant, steps taken at your request before we give you access. Your request is received and stored through the form service of this website (Wix.com Ltd. and its sub-processors acting on our behalf). If you ask for a Google Play test, we add your Google account email to the tester list in Google Play, and Google processes it under its own terms. We keep your details only as long as the testing of that app runs and delete them earlier on request. You can ask for access, correction or deletion, or withdraw your consent, by writing to support@memonavi.eu; withdrawing does not affect what we did before. Applications are for adults; we do not knowingly accept requests from children.
